Joyeux printemps/Happy Spring. We believe it is now safe to say that. Personally, we know we took our snow tires off a little early this year!
Welcome et bienvenue to Madame Pipe who returns May 7 to French Immersion Kindergarten. Sadly, this means we say au revoir and good-bye to Mlle. Toms who has done a great job as a long term teacher.

On April 23, our staff participated in a Ministry Mandated Professional Activity Day. We reflected on our feedback from our recent District Review and considered focus areas of the School Effectiveness Framework. It was a very positive and productive day.

Education Week is from May 7—11, 2012. During this week, we celebrate our role in the creation of a bright future for Ontario. The theme this year is "Believing, Discovering, Succeeding…Together / Croyons, découvrons, réussissons…ensemble"
We hope to see you all at our upcoming ARTS NIGHT on May 2, from 6:00—8:00 PM

Drawing of Tulips

This month, our school is participating in the District Review process. This process provides support to our school in identifying strengths as well as areas for further development that will result in continuous improvement in student learning and achievement.

Now that spring has arrived, we encourage all students who do not take a bus to school to walk or wheel to school. Recently, one of our crossing guards said she was getting a bit bored due to lack of students to cross. Walking or wheeling to school not only helps the environment but also provides an opportunity for exercise and fresh air.

Winter ImageThe winter weather took awhile to finally arrive, but it is certainly here now. There will likely be more snow and chilly temperatures forecasted over the next month. We remind families to ensure that students come to school with the proper layers for recesses and footwear—indoor and outdoor.

santaHow is it possible that there is less than a month until the holidays? We must be having a lot of fun as time is certainly flying by.

Our Breakfast with Santa event was a HUGE success...thanks to Mrs. Ellis and the many staff, parent and student volunteers who assisted in the planning and delivery of the day. This event is not only a wonderful community occasion but also a fundraiser for our school. We raised over $2000.00. Merci Beaucoup especially to the families that supported this event and/or donated items for the garage and book sale.
