Just two short months until the summer holiday is here! Teachers are busy working through the latter stages of the grade level curriculum, ensuring that students are learning as much as they can through hands-on, fun learning activities. The last eight weeks of school will see students participating in:

  • A variety of field and extended trips
  • Sports and extra-curricular activities
  • Arts festivals
  • Reading Club celebrations
  • EQAO Assessments for our grade 3 and 6 students
  • Grade 3 Learn to Swim program at Alder Street
  • Track and Field day

Spring Greetings! April is here and Spring has arrived.
It is hard to believe that we are in the last term for the 2011-12 school year.


Be certain to mark Parkinson PS Community Fun Day on you May calendar. Under the fantastic organizational skills of Debbie Ritter, our school is having a Community Fun Day on Saturday, May 5 from 9am-3pm. There will be a barbecue, silent auction, construction room, raffles, face-painting, and much more. All proceeds will go towards supporting your child’s learning at Parkinson.

 Parkinson Centennial PS has been a very busy place. There are all kinds of wonderful learning and extra-curricular activities going on. Our primary students are enjoying various arts-related trips and activities. Some of our junior students have experienced Earth Keepers, while the whole division is getting ready for their Arts Day on Friday, March 9. Our intermediate teachers shared tentative plans regarding an extended grade seven/eight overnight trip.

Happy New Year and welcome back!!
From bake sales to evening concerts to door decorating to talented student assembly performances, Christmas celebrations were in full swing  during the last number of days of December. Thanks to everyone who contributed food, decorations and volunteer hours to make this time very special for our school community.

Remember, students will be participating in a variety of activities in the next few weeks in addition to their regular school work. Please pay careful attention to correspondence sent from classroom teachers.
