We are planning to do a spring clean up outdoors to refresh our garden at the front and get ready for May flowers!. The weather is beginning to change and it is so nice to see the milder temperatures.Let’s hope the April showers bring May flowers and warmth in the air. However, weather is unpredictable so please make sure your child is dressed for the changing weather.

It has been a busy month at Laurine Avenue with Linamar Trips, Floor Hockey, Earthkeepers and Bike Safety Training. May promises to be just as busy! Our grade 6's will be going to Paradise Lake on May 7, 8, 9. Our Grade 3's and 5's are also participating in swimming programs. I’m sure they will all have a great time and hopefully the weather cooperates.

I am thrilled to announce that the King George Holding school is scheduled to open on time and the construction is going well!

I am also looking forward to seeing students and families at the new King George Holding school.
You are invited to attend a King George school presentation on Friday April 27th from 9:30-10 am in the gymnasium of Laurine Avenue.

This presentation is for all students and parents to see pictures of their new school under construction, learn about the new school day schedule, see the King George website, and ask any questions you may have.

This presentation will be for the Laurine Avenue community. IF you are not able to attend, information shared has been posted on the King George website at www.ugdsb.on.ca/kg/
I will be doing the same presentation for all parents attending King George from the intermediate (gr 7/8) incoming schools at Laurine Avenue on May 3rd from 6:30-7:00pm so if you are unable to attend the morning presentation, you may attend this presentation.

I look forward to sharing in the excitement of the new school during my presentation.

Sincerely,
Reena Anand
Principal

Popcorn Wednesdays Fundraiser

 Permanent link
Good day,

Our first Popcorn Wednesday was a great success; thanks to all who participated and helped to distribute the popcorn!  We had pre-orders for 35 bags and sold another 16 on Wednesday at lunch.
If you would like to pre-order popcorn for the remaining Wednesdays (now through to June 6), you can do so by filling out the attached form and ignoring the first week.  Forms are also available in the office.

We will continue to make popcorn available for sale on Wednesdays at lunch (each bag is $1); however, we cannot guarantee that we will have desired flavours (particularly as we get closer to our last Popcorn Wednesday). The proceeds of this School Council fundraiser are used to support a number of initiatives, including subsidizing field trips, resources for classrooms, and special programs such as Scientists in School.

If you have any questions, you can e-mail Anastasia (lintner@uoguelph.ca).
