We are hoping that the spring snow that fell in Northern Ontario last week does not travel south, and instead of getting out our shovels, we can concentrate on getting out our summer clothes. Clothing that is suitable for a shopping trip to the mall, the beach, or a visit to a friends’s house, may not be suitable for school. Please review the school dress code expectations with your children and know that they will be required to follow them while at school.

The last few months of a school year are always busy, and this year is no exception. We hope you will join your child in some of the many activities between now and the end of the school year. I would like to extend a big thank you from all of our staff to those parents who have assisted the school in the recent past. Whether it be support for class activities or one-to-one assistance, parental help is much appreciated. We recognize that not all parents are able to get into the school to volunteer,so we also appreciate the support you provide to your child or the school in your own way.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful and relaxing break.
The spring weather will hopefully begin soon.
Since the weather is still inconsistent, please make sure that your children are dressed appropriately. Please also make sure your children have indoor and outdoor shoes. With the amount of sand and dirt, the floors in the school are now baring the brunt of outdoor shoes being worn inside. Not only is it unsightly, it is more work for Mr. Shenk and there is a possibility of injury happening if someone should slip on the floor.

boy in winterAs the year winds down, it is a time we usually take time to reflect on the past year. From the perspective of the staff at Brant Avenue P.S., it has been a very busy year. We have introduced full time junior and senior kindergarten. Major renovations were done in the new kindergarten class as well as the library. We have welcomed new staff. Our “World Café” was a great success.
