Principal's Message

We are well on our journey toward the completion of another school year. It is hard to believe that there are only nine weeks of school remaining, and so many exciting activities are underway to make the completion of the 2011-2012 school year a memorable one. Just to list a few of our upcoming activities:

• Education Week May 7-11
• Dufferin Youth Festival of Arts
• Boys and Girls Basketball
• Arts Days
• Drama in the School Presentations
• EQAO grade 3 & 6 Assessment
• Intermediate Niagara Trip
• Track and Field
• Spring Fling
• School Success Planning

Who would of thought that we would see so much snow on April 24. Although the weather has been inconsistent, our students are still eager to play on the yard, on the play structures and on the tarmac. At Laurelwoods, we are fortunate to have one of the finer playground areas. The students are certainly taking advantage of the space and games that are available to them as well as the many intramural activities being offered to our students. Please continue to encourage active, fair and inclusive play.
